[SOLVED] Cannot Join Windows 7 to Samba PDC
[SOLVED] Cannot Join Windows 7 to Samba PDC
Good evening, I get the following error when prompted for my user name and password credentials that have access to the domain rights on the server. After typing in root and the password I get the following.
"The specified computer account could not be found. Contact an administrator to verify the account is in the domain. If the account has been deleted, unjoin, reboot and rejoin the domain."
Posted below is my smb.conf file, however I feel like I am screwing up the last steps with group-mapping, net commands, and creating accounts. I've been attempting to read about all of this and it has just become more vague and confusing and I'm having no luck. Any straightforward how-to advice would be great.

Re: Cannot Join Windows 7 to Samba PDC
Which version of samba is this? If not samba3, you may need to upgrade to samba3 to accommodate Windows 7.
Re: Cannot Join Windows 7 to Samba PDC
I'm almost certain it is Samba3x, I will go home and do a rpm -qi and post the results when available.

Re: Cannot Join Windows 7 to Samba PDC
Ugh, guess I have to figure out how to install this without YUM. If anyone hasn't noticed I'm a total newbie at a lot of things UNIX/Linux.
Re: Cannot Join Windows 7 to Samba PDC
As periko suggested, please search the forums for "samba3". You will find useful threads like
