I am about to build a general server with NAS options on Dell 2900 platform. I am thinking to use 3Ware 9550SXU for Raid.
Anybody used CentOS on this hardware?? Just wondering.

Thanks

9550SXU works well with CentOS 5.0 and 5.1. We're running 24TB (2 controllers, 12 drives each) systems on Supermicro boards.
Only one issue is open at the moment: In cases of marginal disk drives (taking too much time for error recovery and causing timeouts) the controller sometimes doesn't rebuild on the hot spare automatically. AMCC has a new FW version that fixes this.
Turn autoverify on. We had data loss on one system when the controller rebuilt after a drive failure and ran into hard read errors on another drive. Nothing it can do obviously.
