I am running into a really annoying issue with Centos 5.3 (X86_64) on Intel DX58SO, Core i7 920.
The issue is that the machine is about half as fast as it should be. I did a number of performance tests comparing Centos 5.3 (X86_64) to Fedora 11 (X86_64) and apps on the later run almost twice as fast. Also I have tried Centos 5.3 (X86_64) running under vmware on a one year old MacPro and it is faster than the Intel DX58SO, Core i7 920 based machine. Is there a know issue running Centos 5.3 (X86_64) on Intel DX58SO, Core i7 920? Is there a work-around? I checked the forums and the bug lists but did not find anything about that. Thanks |
