CentOS will always have rpm and yum.
Sounds like you are running a VPS that is not really CentOS. If this is the case, you probably cannot load modules. Take this up with your provider. |

No, it's a physical server and collegue gave me SSH login and told me it's CentOS!?
How can I make sure/recheck??? |

Try running "/usr/bin/yum" and "/bin/rpm" just to make sure you don't have a PATH problem.
You can also "cat /etc/redhat-release" |

How about "apt-get update; apt-get install yum rpm" or is it only dpkg? |
