Hi

I installed CentOS 5 on my Dell Studio 540 with RAID Array in dual boot with MS Windows Seven. I made a partition like this (/boot, / and swap) I didn't touch windows and recovery.
But when I restarted the system, windows doesn't want to boot, GRUB can't find the windows partition.
Thank you.

Is it true hardware RAID or "fake RAID" requiring a driver? See http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/SoftwareRAIDonCentOS5

Did it require a driver disk for CentOS? Did the installer see a single device for the RAID or the individual disks? What does "/sbin/lspci -m" show for the controller?

yes CentOS see as a single device (the name of partitions finish with something like ...ARRAY0), and it didn't require a driver. I can't see now because I reinstalled windows.
but when my pc boot. there is a bios message like DISK0 596Go and DISK1 596Go

That was probably overkill - should have been able to just restore the MBR, but done now.

I did find several references to this controller as Fake RAID. If you really want to dual-boot, disable RAID in the BIOS and reinstall everything yet again, or add an independent disk for CentOS.

Hi

Here is the solution:

create a second partition from Windows Vista.
launch the centos installation from the dvd.
create 3 partitions :
* /boot
* /
* swap

don't install grub on the MBR.
when you finish the installation, you boot from windows, then you install EasyBCD, you add the CentOS entry.
And it work.
