I'm pretty certain that is not a true hardware RAID, rather a "Fake RAID". Best bet is probably to use it as a normal SATA controller and use software RAID if you want RAID. See the discussions and links on that page for details.

I contacted Promise and they claim a true RAID. We'll see. CentOS does have support for the card. We'll see.

Well thank you. Learned a lot. I have used the linux software raid. Excellent system but certainly takes some overhead but it works.
