Which version of CentOS is available for an Alpha DS10 (It originally came with Unix64). I have seen elsewhere that Ver 4.6 is latest. However on CentOS mirrors, the directories say 4.8 but the file names suggest the ISOs are 4.3. If the ISOs are 4.3, what is the latest update available (4.6 or 4.8) ?

One additional question. I know the alpha could run Windows NT and Windows 2000 (separate bios), so I would like to know if the port of CentOS 4 for alpha is a 32 bit or 64 bit OS.

You are correct that the 4.8 links are deceptive - 4.3 (vintage 2006) was the last Alpha release. There are no updates to current release levels available. Can't give you a definitive answer on 32/64-bit but I think it was 64.

Unless you are really fond of this old hardware, or strapped for cash, I'd consider the much greater processor power, memory, and disk capacity a few hundred US$ can buy today (even less for better hardware on the used market) versus the administrative overhead to get one of these running and maintain it; not to mention the bugs and security vulnerabilities you would be implicitly signing up for with this antique system.

For a hobby project, good luck and have fun. If there is any commercial/business aspect, the cost trade-offs are going to favor looking for alternative hardware,
