Hi,

I want to install Centos5 over a vnc remote connection (see http://www.karan.org/blog/index.php/2005/06/15/p35 for an example).

It works perfectly for Centos4, but not for Centos5. VNC doesn't start. The installation runs into normal text mode.

I have used the following parameters :

vnc vncpassword=mypasswd headless ip=dhcp ksdevice=eth0 method=ftp://myftpserver/pub/centos5/ lang=en_US keymap=de

Do I need additional parameters for Centos5 ?

I have found the solution after taking a look at the anaconda sources.

The CentOS5 graphical installation requires approximately 300MB of RAM.
If you don't have enough RAM, then the installer loads the smaller installation image (minstg2.img) which only supports text mode.

My system had only 256MB of RAM.
