Dear, all. I tried to install a Linux box with the below specs but after the installation booted up and asked for _language_, _keyboard_, location of the packages to install, I then specified _local_ CDROM (sata) but the initial installation process could not find anything in my _DVD_ ROM. Weird. My DVD drive is a SATA Phillip one and the disk is 5.1 x86_64.

I had to swap out and connect an IDE DVD drive to this box and with the same DVD the installation went OK without asking for language or keyboard and just asked me if I wanted to check the DVD disk.

Possbile bugs???

Thanks.

More likely the SATA interface was not properly recognized, if you would have used linux all-generic-ide it is likely the installation would have worked without the DVD swapping.
