Centos 6 x86_64 installation hangs on Supermicro H8DMi-2

I am attempting to do a net installation of Centos 6 x86_64 on a Supermicro H8DMi-2 with an Areca 1120 RAID controller.
The 6.1 net install CD starts to boot but hangs at "waiting for hardware to initialize..." and never goes any further.

Centos 6 32 bit works ok as does either a 32 or 64 bit edition of Centos 5. Only the 64 bit Centos 6 fails.

Here is selected portions of getinfo from a 64 bit Centos 5 installation.

Thanks.

Welcome to the CentOS fora, and congratulations on being one of the select few to do the recommended reading before posting.

The current/supported release is CentOS 6.2. Please try that. If 6.2 i386 works and x86_64 does not, then a bug report is in order.

Netinstalls are notoriously unreliable. You might have better luck with the DVD installation media. It would also be worthwhile to try the LiveCD/DVD media for a test of compatibility.

Confirmed same result with 6.2. Reported bug 5517 this morning.

Thanks.

Unless it is a CentOS-only bug (seems unlikely) it will need to be reported upstream to be fixed.
