How can I migrate a system from RedHat 9 to CentOS 3?
Owl River has created a great RedHat 9 to CentOS guide. Any efforts to duplicate their work here is futile.

One issue pointed out by usrs upgrading from Redhat9 to Centos3, has been how redhat changed the way they version mark their packages. Its an issue that anyone making the switch from RH9 needs to be aware of and understand implications. More info on this is avaialble on the Mailing List discussion of the issue, available on the web at this link :

 Differences Between RH9 and CentOS3.4?
What are the primary Differences between RH9 and CENTOS 3.4? I am primarily interested in the differences between NFS versions and the gcc version differences.

Re: Differences Between RH9 and CentOS3.4?
I don't have a RH9 installed anywhere to look at :)

We are now at CentOS-3.6 ... but the .x (6 in this case) is just the upstream version's update number (EL3, update 6 is CentOS-3.6).

What is in CentOS-3.6 is

gcc-3.2.3-53
compat-gcc-7.3-2.96.128
nfs-utils-1.0.6-42EL
