Are there any requirements on the use of CentOS Logos and artwork?
1. First, lets take logos / artwork that are inside RPMS produced by CentOS.

You may distribute those RPMS as is without changing anything.

2. Can I use the CentOS Logos on my website?

If you have a CentOS logo on your website, either that logo (or text that is beside it) it needs to contain a link to http://www.centos.org. We distribute a "Powered By CentOS" button for use on websites.

3. Can I use the CentOS logos to sell CentOS CDs and DVDs?

Yes, you can do that. You can link the logos on other pages of your site to your CentOS product page. You need a prominent link to http://www.centos.org/ on your CentOS product page.

Note: You must distribute CD / DVD ISOs exactly as produced by the CentOS project to use our Logos in relation to CD/DVD distribution. You may not use the CentOS logos to distribute ISOs that have been modified.

If you are distributing CD/DVD ISOs, you should consider joining our Official CentOS CD/DVD Vendor program. You will be listed on our ISO Vendor Page. This will give you visibility on the CentOS homepage as an Official Vendor, and both you and the CentOS Project benefit.

Here are details about joining the ISO Vendor program.

4. Can I use the CentOS logo if I am reselling services on CentOS servers (i.e., I am an ISP or a dedicated host provider)?

Yes ... we want people who use CentOS on their machines to advertise that fact. You may use our Logos to do that. You need to either link the Logo to www.centos.org, or create a link to www.centos.org on all pages that contain the logo.

If CentOS is the basis of your business, you should also consider making monthly donations to the CentOS Project, or even providing a dedicated server for our use. See the CentOS Donation page for details. CentOS sponsors (consistent monthly donations that are a percentage of sales or a dedicated server provider) get to run a free banner that appears on the front page of www.centos.org and be listed on our sponsor page.

5. Can I use the CentOS logos on my website as an advertisment if I install CentOS for other people?

This is the case for companies and individuals who install CentOS for other people, specifically you are selling CentOS installation and support for their machines on their site.

In these cases, we do not allow the use of our logos in relation to your business without joining our CentOS Commercial Support program.

In this program, you would donate a percentage of the total that you charge a client for CentOS related work to the CentOS Project. You would be listed on our Commercial Support page and get a banner in our front page banner rotation. Please contact the CentOS Developers if you would like to be a member of our CentOS Commercial Support program.

6. Can I use CentOS logos on products that I sell?

Except for CentOS CD/DVD ISOs, you may not use CentOS logos on merchandise without an individual agreement with the CentOS Project. We need to approve the use of the logos and will require that you donate a percentage of your total sales on items using the CentOS logos in this manner. You would be able to have a banner in our front page banner rotation and announce your store on CentOS.org as part of the agreement.

7. Can I use the CentOS logos in books or training materials that I sell?

The CentOS Project wants books and training materials written for CentOS, but we would ask that you have an individual agreement with the CentOS project if you are selling these products. Please contact the CentOS Developers so that we can make sure the content of the publication is technically correct. The CentOS Project will require a percentage of each sale be donated in order to use our logos in this manner. You will get a banner ad in our front page banner rotation, and be able to list yourself as an Official CentOS Sponsor in your publications and use the CentOS logos.

8. Can I use CentOS logos and/or distribute CentOS ISOS in magazine articles about CentOS?

Absolutely. We would ask that you contact the CentOS Developers so that we know and we would be glad to help with logos and provide information and even provide one copy of specialty ISOs for cover mount products for distribution in Linux related magazines.

CentOS and our logos are a trademarks of CentOS ltd, please contact us if your questions are not answered above.
