Re: No Modules on Centos 9 Stream?
This is a feature, not a bug. You aren't seeing any Modularity content simply because it does not exist at this time. Modularity is a very useful technology, but the way it was implemented and delivered in RHEL 8 left a lot to be desired. For example: Default modules streams that weren't supported f...

Re: Autodesk Maya 2022 Dependencies
If I still had my Autodesk licenses available to me I'd give this a try. @tunk: That won't exist at the present point in time. The VFX community fairly strictly follows the VFX Reference platform which requires applications to be built on RHEL 7 at the moment. Autodesk does support RHEL 8 for runnin...

Re: How to enable Devel repository in CenoOS Stream release 8
You can use this repo to download koji-only packages from the Stream 8 buildroot: https://koji.mbox.centos.org/kojifiles/repos/dist-c8-stream-build/latest/$basearch/ Keep in mind this is the entire Stream buildroot, so unless you are trying to perform packaging for Stream, only enable this repo to d...

Re: How to setting centos 9 stream fresh install
The EPEL9-Next buildroot in Koji only opened up very recently. As of the time of writing, the only packages you can install are the release and epel-rpm-macros. Looking at Koji it looks like the KDE Sig is the first one to really start building stuff, but it's very early days for EPEL9. Please have ...

Re: Last ever update (how to determine?)
dnf swap centos-linux-repos centos-stream-repos dnf distro-sync reboot https://www.centos.org/centos-stream/ I added the reboot as you will get a new kernel from Stream, and it's a good practice for a conversion such as this. If you are also using EPEL, you can optionally dnf reinstall epel-release...

Re: Last ever update (how to determine?)
Alma has had SB support for some time now. Based on the recent updates of the shim request, I would expect Rocky 8.5 or 8.6 at the latest to have SB support.

Re: CS9 Fora?
Fair question. Might be worth bringing up on one of the mailing lists, centos-devel maybe?
I personally could see Stream fitting in to https://discussion.fedoraproject.org as another category section. Plus that way everything would be behind FAS and integrated across services.
Cheers,
Mike

Re: Customize right click file menu / Nautilus action alternative
Nautilus-Actions, since renamed to FileManager-Actions, was removed from Fedora six years ago and never brought back. The actual upstream ceased any non-translation development about four years ago and has put it into their Archive namespace in source control. https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/naut...

Re: dnf install foo<TAB> does not work
To my knowledge Debian based distributions always work off a local cache and don't update it unless explicitly told (at least with apt-get). dnf does as well, but will always perform a check to determine whether or not to update the local cache. I have package completion working in a Stream 8 contai...
