Re: Multiple gateways problem

I would think that enp2s0 : 192.168.0.40 - > 255.255.255.0 - > 192.168.0.1 -> Internet Access Should be your only default GW. Then just have routes to your other subnets in your routing table. I had an issue kinda similar in that I had two nics in the server and the default GW would always set to th...

Re: "there is a problem with the kernel"

What I would do is check the health of your drive - /dev/sdc might be having issues. If it checks out ok then I think you can boot from the centos cd and just get into single user mode and run a fsck check on the file system.

Lets see what those show first

Opinions on how to best handle email

Hello, I have setup a server for a client running Centos 7.4 (13 workstations, Windows7) that handles their needs for file sharing, Firewall, and exchange services thru a third party software called Icewarp. The client is still using their old email server hosted by siteground. However, They have a ...

Re: Routing table changes on boot up

I want to thank you very much for your help. What had me a bit confused is NetworkManager (GUI on desktop) and nmtui which I didnt know existed. I was able to correct the issues with networking surviving a reboot and was able to setup the new internet connection easily! Used nmtui to setup networkin...

Re: Routing table changes on boot up

Excuse me for being so late to update this thread. I assume the DEFROUTE setting should be taken out from em1 as it will no longer be the default route? It only handles the internal network. Here is the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-em2 which is the 2nd nic that connects to the modem. TYPE=Et...

Samba and file indexing for windows 7

I have tried to research this but all I read is pretty out of date.

Does anyone know if its possible to index files on a samba share for windows 7 workstations? I have heard that windows does not support this on network drives unless its a windows server.

Re: centos 5.9 raid1 software with issues

What is the status of /dev/md0 and /dev/md1 ?

From what you posted it shows that your /dev/md2 is degraded and /dev/sdb2 /dev/sda2 is listed as a spare. If md0 and md1 are not degraded then you have to remove sdb2 sda2 as a spare and add it to /dev/md0 /dev/md2 as a member of the raid.

Re: Samba 4 Adn Win 10

If i try with \\<ip_address> it work but not with \\<linux_name> Is it in DNS or have you added it to your Windows hosts file? Oops, I missed the fact that it works on ip address. Not enough coffee this morning I guess. I would think the place to start looking is DNS - TREVORH I think your spot on ...

Re: Samba 4 Adn Win 10

You can try this:

In your smb.conf file add this below the 'workgroup=' line

Code: Select all

client max protocol = SMB3
Restart samba and see if you can connect with win10.
