change the default boot kernel on a headless server

Since the 7.6 update, I have a problem (more on this in another topic when I have enough info to post). I want to make sure that the new kernel is the culprit. So I'd like to boot with the last 7.5 kernel. The problem is that I have no boot menu (no display, no keyboard), and grub configuration is f...

Re: xapian php binding

Finally it's working.

I'll keep temporarily this setup to do a few tests.

But I think that my next step will be to recompile the last version from xapian.

Re: xapian php binding

My findings so far : xapian-bindings.x86_64 is nearly empty (just a few useless text files). To get the real stuff, you have to download the source package and rebuild the RPM. After that you have a "xapian.php", but with a few problems : It uses a deprecated PHP function "dl()" there is another pro...

[SOLVED] How can I modify permanently a systemd start command line ?

Thank you it works. Why not fix your monitoring to work without the pid file? Because I have not the slightest idea of how to do that. It will take me a couple of hours to figure it out. Removing the --no-pid flag is a quick fix. Is there any drawback with pid files ? Why does systemd change the def...

How can I modify permanently a systemd start command line ?

Someone, for whatever reason, has decided that dhcpd should run without pid file and added the option --no-pid to the command line in /usr/lib/systemd/system/dhcpd.service. For monitoring purpose, I need the dhcpd pid file. I can edit the systemd file to remove the --no-pid option, but my modificati...
