Thank you all. My boot partition has 2GB and is 30% full ....
I did, as you told.
You are right with Corona,
but I'm working all time from home and have no break.
I must first have an alternate computer running,
before tackling this...
Greetings,
Holger

I want more entries in grub
Hello, kernel has updated several times the last years. But I am using still 3.10.0-957, all newer Kernels need some rework at the graphics driver, they don't start KDE but stop with error... But I have no time to threat this problem now. Now the Kernel is at the last line of grub, I'm frightened, t...

vpn / vpnc CentOSD 8 as VPN Client to FritzBox
Hello!
Does anyone know, how to enable vpnc on Centos?
I have it on my notebook and want to connect with my office network.
So I need vpnc (acc. to knowledge base of FritzBox)
But
dnf install vpnc
doesn't find it.
epel is activated, of cause.
Greetings,
Holger

Re: Grub2 configuration
Of cause, you are right. But I thought, it would be lesser effort, to manipulate grub .... In particular, all other tasks while installation ran very well, I installed now several days (I am using some critical hardware and software ...) and I am frightened, that I would damage other parts of my sys...

Re: Grub2 configuration
OK, I only want to ensure, that nobody copies my wrong way ......;-) I want, that grub always chooses that kernel, which I have run at the session before .... That is not the first entry of the menu (first entry is the elrepo-kernel, which doesn't work). If a new kernel comes via an update, I want t...

Grub2 configuration
Hello, I installed the new Centos Elrepo Kernel and it is not running. OK, there is one kernel running very fine: (uname -r 4.18.0-80.7.1.el8_0.x86_64, I'm not sure, where it comes from, elrepo ore my centos 8-iso ...) Now I want, that the last used kernel is used for booting at grub. Of cause, ther...

is there a package manager as yumex available?
Hi, I switched from Centos 7/KDE to Centos 8/gnome. Now I'm missing urgently a packet manager, which shows the installed repos and allows to see, which software is included, which is installed. I want to have clearly arranged listings, as yumex provided them (with some limitations) The Gnome ,Softwa...

Re: Blackscreen after update to Centos 7.7 / Kernel 3.10.0-1062.1.1.el / NVIDIA
I have installed kmod-nvidia from ELRepo, and all is up to date. But I still can't start Centos with the new Kernel. I get a black screen, if I switch to console (CTR+ALT+F2), I see some running red stars and the message: A start job is running, wait for screen to quit. And a time-counter... It ran ...
