uml_utilities on CentOS 7

Hey everyone, I'm looking to create a macOS VM in KVM following this tutorial and one of the packages I need to install is uml_utilities. However I dont see it in any of the repos except EPEL 6. Browsed the web and found it here but looks to be the same package with a more recent build date. Is this...

Re: Epel repo failed

THis happened to me a few days ago, then today it was able to see the repo. Might have been a DNS issue when checking the repo. Try again and see if it fixed itself.

Re: Clone OS Drive (RAID1)

I do have the rescue kernel installed. This is a UEFI system, not legacy if that makes a difference. /boot, /home and / are ext4. So you're saying I could use the semi-live method and once I have swapped out the drives for larger ones, I can boot into rescue and resize / and /home?

Re: Clone OS Drive (RAID1)

Offline, with Clonezilla should be relatively easy. (Says a person, who has perhaps once used Clonezilla for something.) IIRC, there was option to clone whole disk (you get partition table, sector 0, etc.) and option to clone individual partitions (possibly with resize too). However, with RAID1 the...

Software, hardware, or fakeRAID?
Plain partitions or LVM?
Online migration or offline cloning?
Software RAID thru mdadm
Plain Partitons (although I have thought about switching to LVM but figure I would have to reinstall OS for that, unless it's do-able)
Offline cloning (clonezilla?)

Re: "FAILED to start GSSAPI Proxy Daemon"

Did you try to restore the selinux context of the directory and files in /var/lib/gssproxy? sudo restorecon -R /var/lib/gssproxy Does that correct the selinux context of /var/lib/gssproxy/default.sock ? @pjsr2 sorry for the late response again. I check the status of GSSPROXY and it was in a failed ...

Clone OS Drive (RAID1)

Hello, I have (2x) 500GB RAID1 SSDs that hold all my VMS. I'm looking to consolidate storage by moving the VMs to my OS drives (2x RAID1 250GB SSDs), however I need larger devices. I was wondering how difficult it would be to clone my OS drives? Looking to get (2x) 1TB SSDs so I can have the VMs sto...

Re: PCI Passthrough in KVM

There should be no /boot/grub2/grub.cfg in UEFI system. I did assume that you have legacy BIOS install, because you wrote what you wrote. (Almost did ask why have BIOS install. Didn't.) That path does exist in /boot but like I said, I ran the grub2-mkconfig for /boot/grub2/grub.cfg rather than /boo...

Re: PCI Passthrough in KVM

Ok I was able to figure out what my issue was.... everything was enabled correctly in BIOS. I reconfigured grub according to @jlehtone, however my mistake was that I reconfigured grub for BIOS and not UEFI (which is what my system runs). Once I reconfigured for UEFI, I was able to pass the SATA PCI ...

Re: PCI Passthrough in KVM

Maybe someone else can answer this....can I install qemu-kvm-ev over my existing qemu-kvm installation and not have to reinstall my VMs or would I have to remove the qemu-kvm package first, install qemu-kvm-ev and redo my VMs? I assume I can just install over the existing qemu-kvm, but any existing ...
