Re: There is no pptp vpn option in NetworkManager

Looks like there already is a NetworkManager-pptp bug report in EPEL7 bugzilla and it was submitted some time ago : https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1467910 But for KDE, there isn't a kde-plasma-networkmanagement-extras bug report yet in EPEL7 bugzilla for the missing pptp vpnplugin. Thi...

Re: Windows Domain Controllers can't see samba shares

I'm dying here..... 94 views and not a single idea? Has nobody got any ideas? This is driving me nuts! I've got an Ubuntu on site that allows the domain controllers to use the shares..... I don't really care for Ubuntu..... Cent has always been my go-to...... I'd REALLY like to find a solution... ev...

Re: Persistent tunnel. AutoSSH and Hamachi are occasionably unreliable

You wouldn't happen to have the script would you? I could use that as a third backup door. Ultra-simple.... My solution isn't, by any means, eloquent, but it just seems to work. Here it is: if (ps -ale|grep -1 x11vnc); then echo x11running >/var/log/myx11log ; else x11vnc -forever -bg -rfbauth /etc...

Re: Setup for webdevelopment

It can be done, but get your httpd server running properly first. Permissions on those files and directories is something Linux is finicky about. The first thing I'd recommend is to get the files you want ot publish out of the "/home" directory. That's probably going to cause headaches later, even i...

Re: Samba utilizing FreeIPA as Auth

I'm curious.... Mainly because I'm having difficulty with SAMBA and domain controllers.... So your post caught my eye... Just wondering if you get any different messages if SELINUX and firewalld are disabled? (I know you don't want to do it permanently, and that's quite understandable). Of course, i...

Re: Partition setup

Hi Raffaele, If I understand what you're wanting to do, I'd say that creating the system using both disks is the way to go. If you do this at boot-time, just remember that you'll be asked if you want to format that hard drive with the Cent already on it! You can, of course, mount that hard drive und...

Re: need assistance in configuring vnc server

Out of curiosity, I'm wondering how many people set up VNC for multi-user, and how many set it up just for single person administrative access (as I do).... The reason I ask is this: With all the changes that happen in X11, gdm, kdm, sddm, god-knows-what-else-m, there never seems to be a consistent ...

Re: Persistent tunnel. AutoSSH and Hamachi are occasionably unreliable

I have absolutely no experience with using anything LogMeIn (hamachi)..... As for the SSH issue, the best solution I've found is to run a bash script as a simple cron job as root to see if the daemon is running. If not, the routine issues a restart. I know it's not as eloquent as having another piec...
