Re: centos 7 as a router?

Here is advice from ISP "Based on our discussion and the diagrams you sent me, I can recommend 2 things: first is to have a custom VLAN or VPN tunnel configured on the ISP 3900 series router, to accommodate all your devices in your network. You may also want to consider getting an additional IP...

Re: centos 7 as a router?

I may have assigned the wrong ip of the layer 2 switch between the ISP 3945E and Sonicwall but layer 2 it shouldn't matter and like you said about the VLAN on the router maybe a vlan id that is different from the default vlan 1. The Route from the 3945E must have been defined which makes the next de...

Re: centos 7 as a router?

They are Hardware Firewalls. Google "HA firewall". You should find active/backup fw tutorials for Ubuntu, Sophos, and some "hardware" brands. In most the two firewalls monitor each other and when the active goes down, the backup activates. Not only that, but it takes over the IP...

Re: centos 7 as a router?

OK. Lets forget HA redundancy for a moment still. Your pictures have a firewall and a router between ISP WAN and OffLAN. Two side-by-side routes. Why? First route is the normal consumer setup...OffLAN to Internet , VPN from anywhere except for TsLAN or HPClan...etc. The second route is custom Inter...

What is the content of your ssh banner? What do you mean by content banner? Yesterday (Running KDE Desktop) I turned all the Energy Saving settings off, so far it has not froze up yet. However the only thing I have done was open up LibreOffice and drew a couple of boxes...I will need to make the co...

Re: centos 7 as a router?

Lets see if I read those right: * There is a subnet in the "office". I call it OffLAN. * There is/are datacenter subnet(s). HPClan. (Assuming routed link. One could extend OffLAN to datacenter via bridged MPLS.) * There is external Tech Support group with their TSlan subnet. * The OffLAN ...
