Re: help me to choose a OS version

Hi desertcat,
just read You only have 1GB RAM. That`s too little for well running system.
You should replace / upgrade to the max. I remember 2 GB?

This should solve Your Problems.

Anyway Chrome and all Chrome like browsers are spyware on the web....

Re: help me to choose a OS version

Hi northpoint,

Did You really use these latest 1708 Versions of 7.4?
I´m finishing now 3 different 32 bit machines and they work excellent as Desktop Computers.

Re: best tool to created usb install-isos sticks

Hi Trevor, indeed some elder of my family and their friends have still 32-bit machines. They are updated with RAM and SSD and work fine with opensuse 13.2 KDE. Because nobody of them likes the new KDE5 "flatdesign" I´m looking for a long running replace and switching over to CentOS-7 may be a better...

best tool to created usb install-isos sticks

Hi girls and guys,

Using mostly Suse until now ,
I created my usb install-isos with the Suse Studio Imagewriter.
This worked with all distros. Even with 1708 KDE live.
But it failed with the DVD and Everything 1708 isos.

- which tool do You use?
- do I need a bigger usb then 8 GB?

Thanxs

Re: cent-OS 7 Desktop recommended partitioning scheme for small SSD

Hi TrevorH,

thanxs for Your quick answer.
So Your choice would be 2GB swap and 1 / for /root and home together. No extra /home?

Is that right?

Re: CentOS live with persistence

Hi emalac, are You thinking of something like "Knoppix", but with centos? Klaus Knopper made a Special Mix of the Debians version to made it work. Maybe it`s easier to use his 8.1 version. It works fine. I always have a Stick of 128GB in my pocket. There are so many computers in this world... n.b. Y...
