Thanks for checking. I checked in RHEL 8.2 but don't see it.
So have to ask the patch provider I think. I will do that and see if I can get any update on that.
Thanks

Re: KVM Hypervisor - guest steal time stats on the hypervisor
I don't believe the steal reported in 'mpstat' is from guests. One of the VMs on a KVM hypervisor I've has steal around 15% but the 'mpstat' on the hypervisor always show 0. As per the patch, the '/proc/pid/stat' and pidstat will show the guest steal information. The kernel version shown there is 3....

Kernel update matching RHEL version?
Hello, I've CentOS 1810 installed from the ISO having kernel 3.10.0-957.el7.x86_64. I've 1810 Vault repos setup. Now I want to update the kernel to kernel 3.10.0-957.58.2.el7 which is what RH provides. But the repo provides only kernel 3.10.0-957.27.2.el7. How do I get the most recent 7.6 kernel ? T...

Local user nss winbind lookup
Hello, We have winbind client running on CentOS 7.3.1611 host connected to MS active directory. It is working normal for local and AD users. However in the logs, I see that NSS is throwing call to winbind to retrieve the groups for "root" user. I wonder why it does and what can be done to make it st...

We only use this setup for the user authentication. The host access and sudoers is locally managed. We do have Ansible based configurati...

Does this combination work and/or supported? Is there any compatibility matrix of the KVM host and guest OS available somewhere?
Thanks much!

Re: Spectre and meltdown patches
Thank you! It looks like the guests running CentOS will have to be patched as well.

Spectre and meltdown patches
Hi,
Does anyone know a link where one can find the proper patches and info for Centos 7x to mitigate the Spectre and Meltdown vulns?
Also looking for info if we want to roll back the changes.
Thanks
