Re: CentOS 7.9.2009 Infiniband drivers causing kernel panic on Ryzen 9 5950X
I can't even get it to install after writing the 7.9.2009 ISO onto a USB drive using Rufus 3.17 (which is the latest version as of this writing). Does that thumb drive function properly on other machines? If you have a kernel that would boot if there were no IB card, then installation without the c...

Re: CentOS 7.9.2009 Infiniband drivers causing kernel panic on Ryzen 9 5950X
If I don't update the kernel, then the 3.10.0-1160 kernel that ships with also has a kernel panic on a Ryzen 5950X (by default anyways), i.e. I can't even get it to install after writing the 7.9.2009 ISO onto a USB drive using Rufus 3.17 (which is the latest version as of this writing). Either way, ...

CentOS 7.9.2009 Infiniband drivers causing kernel panic on Ryzen 9 5950X
I am trying to have a system set up with an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X on an Asus X570 TUF Gaming Pro (WiFi) motherboard and when I get CentOS 7.9.2009 installed and the kernel updated to 5.15.11 and I tried to get Infiniband up and running, it results in a kernel panic. https://i.postimg.cc/5ySKzG47/IMG-682...

Re: cant install centos 7 or 8 on amd x570 MB with ryzen 5000 cpu
Did anybody find a solution to this problem? I'm having the same problem also with a Ryzen 9 5950X and a Asus X570 TUF Gaming Pro (Wi-Fi). The system has a kernel panic before I can even get into booting/installing the CentOS 7.7.1908. Any help, suggestions, or advice would be greatly appreciated. T...

Re: How do I prevent the system from updating to the 3.10.0-1062 kernel?
we can't POSSIBLY be the only people who's updated the kernel and noticed that it'll issue sig 15 to ssh. You aren't the only people to see this but you are the only person to mistakenly assign blame to the kernel. It's NOT a kernel bug. You need to update to the newer systemd packages that are in ...

Can I force MegaRAID SAS RAID HBA in IR mode to pass TRIM commands to SSDs in a RAID0 array?
Is there a way for me to force a MegaRAID SAS RAID HBA in IR mode to pass TRIM commands to SSDs in a RAID0 array?
Or do I HAVE to run it in IT mode to be able to do that?

Re: How do I prevent the system from updating to the 3.10.0-1062 kernel?
If you are getting 3.10.0-1062 and successfully install it then your system will no longer be on CentOS 7.6. Linux 3.10.0.1062.1.2.el7.x86_64 is the current kernel for CentOS 7.7.1908. CentOS stops all patching for a point release once it is marked end of life and moves everyone to the next point r...

Re: How do I prevent the system from updating to the 3.10.0-1062 kernel?
P.S. The ONLY reason why I haven't upgrade to CentOS 7.7 is because the CAE/FEA/CFD/HPC softwares that I use has not been certified run on CentOS 7.7. If they are all certified to run on CentOS 7.7, then I'd switch over to that immediately. But because they haven't been certified on CentOS 7.7, and ...
