No answers here, so I figured I'd give what little I found myself. The problem with the keybounce (or key bounce depending on how you google) is caused by buggy Synaptic driver.. The answer is to comment out the synaptic section in xorg.conf don't have a mouse section at all as the kernel has the ps...
