Re: Grub and Kernel parameter init=/bin/bash
From the http://centos.mirrors.wvstateu.edu/6.7/isos/x86_64/ mirror I downloaded The results are also shown in the graphic ...not mention of Ubuntu. Yes there is. Look at the image you have posted, line number eight (8) reads -- init: Failed to connect to socket /com/ubuntu/upstart : Connection ref...

Re: trying to get a pci card w/ 2 serial ports working
Sorry for the delay in my response, I was away for a day. Quite honestly, I do not know. :( It is a very long time since I last installed a multi-port serial card into a system . . . Thinking about it, it might have been into a computer running Unix System III, sometime in the early 1980s! You seem ...

Re: trying to get a pci card w/ 2 serial ports working
So a loadable driver (module) is not identified for the device. That is not necessarily a significant failing as, quite often, the serial drivers are configured to be built into the basic kernel image. If there had been any output, it would have guided the direction upon which you would have needed ...

Re: CentOS 6.7 -- Restore Gnome Panel Default Config Setting
Login to the account. Open a terminal. ls -a rm -r .gconf ls -a Close the terminal. Logout from the account. Login to the account. Basically it has been suggested that you try deleting your existing Gnome configuration, which is held under the hidden directory ~/.gconf . The above list will achieve...

Re: trying to get a pci card w/ 2 serial ports working
The only advice I can give is, as the device is a PCI card, you should be able to identify the Vendor:Device ID paring for it from the output returned by -- lspci -nn . There will be two colon separated hexadecimal numbers delimited by a pair of open/close square brackets. Here is an example, taken ...

Re: ACPI warning messages in CentOS 6.7
The only advice I can give is to ensure that the system's BIOS is fully up-to-date.
Those messages are not severe warnings as such . . . consider them to be informational messages, as to how the ACPI process is attempting to work around deficiencies within the BIOS.

It is your system that makes references to Ubuntu, so what have you done to it? We have no idea.
A CentOS 6 system does not reference Ubuntu.

Re: Help with RT5390 Wireless Drivers
Looking, quickly, on an up to date RHEL 7 system I see -- [Build64R7 ~]$ grep -i 1814 /lib/modules/*/modules.alias | grep -i 5390 /lib/modules/3.10.0-229.11.1.el7.x86_64/modules.alias:alias pci:v00001814d00005390sv*sd*bc*sc*i* rt2800pci /lib/modules/3.10.0-229.14.1.el7.x86_64/modules.alias:alias pci...
