To recap the full install procedure I used. In BIOS turn off APM Download and transfer NetInstall image to USB key using UNetBootIn Plug PS/2 keyboard into firewall Press F11 and select to boot from USB key At UNetBootin boot screen press tab. Hi,
Looks like I also need to update the file /boot/grub/menu.lst to replace all references to 'hd1' with 'hd0'. After that it seems to be working just fine.

To be honest the install wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't for Grub installing to the MBR on the wrong disk. Very annoying.
