Re: Does CentOS join Microsoft strategy ?
To which Microsoft strategy do you refer? And I don't speak for nor am I affiliated with any official CentOS response (except as a sometimes user of CentOS), but I thought some clarification would be a good thing.

Re: Suspend and Hibernate don't work for me in CentOS 6 - worked fine in 5.6
I filed a bug report on the RHEL 6 beta for that issue. See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=590946 Is there even a hibernate or suspend option on the shut down menu? During the beta there wasn't one for me, and I believe they were to include the fix in 6.1 but not in 6.0. I don't have 6....

Just FYI, rpmforge is now called repoforge. Here's the url: http://repoforge.org/
I had to enable scripts to get a link to pull up a page, (using no script addon, with firefox) fyi.

Re: Mirror mirror on the wall [CentOS 6 sync to mirrors]
I wish I had some confetti to throw! Just in time to put it on the Fedora13 partition I have waiting, though at this point I'm doing pretty well with Debian testing (wheezy) so I'll most likely wait for 6.1. :-D

Re: CentOS logo / artwork
I searched, but either didn't request the search for the right place(s) or didn't use the right keyword(s). I figured there was something like that around. Thanks for the link!

I joined the devel mail list to see if I could glean anything useful about v6 release and / or help that might be needed. Since I wouldn't know a spec file if it bit me in the nose, there's not much as far as building rpm's and/or patches, etc that I can contribute. But, the subject of wallpaper (de...

Re: cups problem, no printing using print server
It sounds like the option you want is IPP or Internet Printing Protocol, if you're controlling it from a pc in the network that's not the actual print server. If you know the IP of the server, you can enter that directly as the printer location, such as: IPP://192.168.0.5/dev/lp0 and of course you'l...

High priority! Apache won't start!
I'm not sure we needed your entire apache.conf file, since the error specifically mentions line 41 (though a few lines before and after the line in question is sometimes helpful too). It appears that line equates to (approximately) this line: And I believe that directive should match whatever you ha...

Re: Can't access server apache test page externally.
I haven't worked out accessing the page externally myself, though it's probably the firewall issue. I can help with the index.html issue, however. You can easily create your own by opening a text editor (i.e. gedit) and creating the page with the header, body etc. tags and some sample text if you wa...

Re: How to install GNOME by command?
You'll need to be logged into a terminal as root, then try typing (no quotes) 'yum grouplist' and it should list the available groups. I'm currently on rhel v6 beta and it shows installed of Desktop and Desktop Platform, though in Fedora 12 when I wanted to install GNOME after a text install I belie...
