Re: vsftp server being hit repeatedly by someone from ipvanish.com

That's not exactly high volume. I'd just implement fail2ban and move on with life.

Re: vsftp server being hit repeatedly by someone from ipvanish.com

Why do you suspect ipvanish.com when the attack is coming from multiple ip addresses?

Re: A simple iptables port forwarder

iptables -L only lists the filter table, you have to use -t nat to list the NAT table. Use iptables-save instead, it lists everything.

You also need to enable net.ipv4.ip_forward too

Re: Customize Yum Server with SSL

Yes it was issued from my CA server.

and is "your" CA server a real recognised one whose cert will already be in the list of trusted ones shipped by Redhat? If it isn't then you need to add it to the list of trusted ones or tell yum to allow it.

Re: Postfix with sqlite3: unsupported dictionary type: sqlite

There is a version of postfix in the 'centosplus' repo that has more modules enabled than the default one from base/updates but that doesn't seem to have sqlite support either, I think it just adds postgresql. I see that the IUS repo ships it as postfix32u and they also have a postfix32u-sqlite pack...

Re: mouse and keyboard don't work after startup

Your xorg.conf file is /root/xorg.conf.new

Did you copy that to /etc/X11/xorg.conf? It won't be used as it is now as it's not the right filename.

Also do you have xorg-x11-drv-evdev xorg-x11-drv-mouse and xorg-x11-drv-libinput installed?

Re: Customize Yum Server with SSL

If this is a genuine CA issued certificate then it should just work. If it's a self-signed cert then you probably either need to import your CA cert into the trusted list or tell yum to ignore the errors. Running man yum.conf and searching for SSL shows me parameters like sslcacert=, sslverify, sslc...

Re: Can ASUS Z370-P DVIHDMI ports be utilised under CentOS 7?

If it doesn't work with 7.4 then perhaps enable the CR repo and try again in a few days when what will become 7.5 is released into CR (it's empty at the moment but in progress).

Re: script question

rpm -qf --qf '%{VERSION}\n' /etc/redhat-release should work on all and be portable to any RHEL clone.
