Re: Centos 7 boot screen after install nvidia proprietary drivers

So, if you mean the flashy but useless twirling graphic you get from the point where you select the right kernel until the screen clears for the display manager to use the screen, then no, it doesn't work with the nvidia drivers.

Re: Netgear A6100 wifi adapter

Having googled around a bit, I'm quite surprised that you even got CentOS 7 to load on those. The info I found says that a 1750 is from 2003 and had 32 bit xeon processors. Are you using CentOS 7 x86_64 or the altarch 32 bit build? If you've loaded the altarch 32 bit version then that would mean tha...

Re: what do you do when a driver asks for X11R6 directory?

[ 29.862] vesa: Ignoring device with a bound kernel driver So vesa isn't loading because something else has already grabbed the device and walked off with it. I checked and although it appears that the CentOS kernel includes the mgag200 module, we do not ship its xorg-x11-drv equivalent - xorg-x11-...

Re: Centos 7 boot screen after install nvidia proprietary drivers

I have no boot screen anymore

From what point on and when does it recover? What is your kernel command line - it'll be in /proc/cmdline

Maybe a google search for "status=203/EXEC" might help? First hit for me was https://stackoverflow.com/questions/457 ... -directory

Re: Barcode Datalogic Scanner Integration - Cent OS 5.5

CentOS 5 is dead. Do not use it. In addition, 5.5 is from March 2010 so is now close to 8 years old and has 8 years worth of security vulnerabilities. It should not be used. If you absolutely must use CentOS 5 then at least point your yum repo files at vault.centos.org and update to 5.11 which is &q...

Re: Netgear A6100 wifi adapter

If it doesn't work with CentOS then it's 99.99% likely that it won't work with RHEL either since CentOS is a rebuild of RHEL sources. Your best bet is to raise an RFE ticket on the ELRepo bug tracker and ask them if they can produce a kmod package for that adapter. Also, as an aside, a 1750 is so ol...
