Re: Centos 6.9 always chooses the oldest kernel no matter what

So the reason I asked is because there is a file /etc/grub.conf that should be a symlink to the file you are editing. Use of some tools like sed can break that symlink and cause /etc/grub.conf to become a file in its own right and lose the symlink to the correct file. You can then edit the one in /e...

Re: Centos 6.9 always chooses the oldest kernel no matter what

That doesn't tell me which one - that just shows me what it looks like. What is the path of the file you are editing?

Re: Loop login, SELinux GDM

Can you login in permissive mode and run aureport -a then look at that output and find the line(s) that look like they are from the most recent occurrence of the problem. In each of those lines, look a the right hand end of the line and there'll be a number. Take that number and feed it into ausearc...

Re: Dash to dock Gnome extension outdated in CentOS 7.4?

Since the version we supply already has 3.22 in its version number I suspect it works as-is.

gnome-shell-extension-dash-to-dock.noarch 3.22.2-10.el7 base

Re: CentOS 7 no network devices

Did you install the latest version of kmod-forcedeth from ELRepo? It's required for the 7.4 kernel. Best thing to do is to install elrepo-release and then yum update as it will keep it up to date for you.

Re: Enabling framebuffer on a CentOS 7?

Are you sure your user has access to the FB device?

Code: Select all

crw-rw----. 1 root video 29, 0 Sep  9 00:31 /dev/fb0

So it has to be a member of group video or root here.
