Re: Centos 7 fails to install from USB and disk (creating from windows, boot on no OS machine)

Please make sure that you use the recommended method of creating your USB stick - namely just dd the iso file to the entire USB device. Don't try using most of the Windows based USB stick creation programmes as a lot of them are broken and try to "edit" the iso image as they write it and t...

Not enough information to tell. Start by making sure you are up to date by running yum update. Describe your VM, what is runs on, how it's configured etc. Post details of the crash.

Re: CentOS 6.5 hangs with memory pressure test by memtester 4.3.0

Both of your tests are invalid. Neither 6.5 nor 7.0 are supported and both contain known high severity security (and other) bugs that could be exploited. Neither should be used. Try again on 6.9 and 7.3 - those are the only supported versions.

Re: Security updates while restarting an centOS 6.9

There is no ability to only do security updates on CentOS. It's yum update or stay backlevel - you cannot cherry pick security updates only.

Re: Nginx won't work with CWP

You'll need to seek support from CWP as that product is nothing at all to do with the CentOS project - other than abusing our good name.

Re: Different Filesystems on Volume Groups

Well, that's rather complicated by the fact that there is no upgrade from CentOS 6 to 7, it's a reinstall from scratch. You can change the filesystem that's used in the installer so you don't have to have xfs if you'd rather have ext4 (or even 3). It's fine to have as many filesystems in use as you ...

Re: GnuGP -- problem with installation

You're running the wrong distro then. Yes, CentOS (and RHEL) ship older versions of things but that is for stability purposes. Redhat take care of security, backporting security patches from the newer versions to the older ones, but the whole idea is that by running the older versions, you get less ...

Re: GnuGP -- problem with installation

Basically, if you install something from source then you are completely on your own. We don't support it. If you install something from the CentOS repos then that package will get updated with security and bug fixes from RHEL as they are released, as and when you run yum update . So the gnupg packag...
