Re: Yum Update Issue

Try yum clean all

Are you behind a web proxy of any sort?

Re: Steps move centos-home XFS to centos-root

No, meaning you have to stop everything that is using it. Pretty sure that force or lazy umounting /home will not work as any attempt to do anything with it will detect that it's still in use. Use fuser -m /home to get a list of the process ids using the mount point and work out what they are and st...

Re: Steps move centos-home XFS to centos-root

Looks fine to me. You'll probably need to be in single user mode or, at least, kill a bunch of stuff so that you can umount /home cleanly.

Re: Kernel crash

You can read the kernel rpm changelog by running rpm -q --changelog kernel-3.10.0-693.21.1.el7.x86_64 | less but good luck with that as it's one line per change and there are about 30,000 of them between point releases...

Re: Kernel crash

If it is a bug then it will have been fixed in one of the kernels included in 7.4 or 7.4 or 7.5. What you're running is 7.2 which is from Nov 2015 and is no longer supported. You're not even running the latest 7.2 kernel. Run yum update to get up to date, currently 7.4 but 7.5 will be hitting the CR...

Re: How to safely remove java with lots of dependencies

Re: How to safely remove java with lots of dependencies

Are you sure you have the equivalent package set installed for 6, 7 or 8 that you have currently installed for 5?

Hmm, the only java-1.5.0 packages left that I see in the repos are for gcj and I'm fairly sure that's gone form newer openjdk versions.

Post the output of the yum remove.

Re: Is there an ISO to install CentOS 6.9?

Yes, but 6.9 is current so it won't be on vault. You want http://mirror.centos.org/centos/6/isos/x86_64/ (or the i386 directory if you have ancient hardware that won't run 64 bit).
