Re: Changing disk partitions on current setup

Given that this is for backups and it's pointless having backups on the same physical disk as the originals, why not just buy and install a new disk, format it, mount it and copy your existing backups onto it and then mount the new one in its place. That still doesn't make your backup safe as lots o...

Re: Broadcom bcm43228 WiFi support on CentOS 7

One possible solution is to do what I did... Intel 7260 cards go for about £10 on ebay and work out of the box.

One caveat: if the machine is a Lenovo I believe they lock (at least on some models of laptop) what cards are recognised and allowed via some BIOS code.

Re: Remote access to Centos 7

If you use vnc then what you get is a self-contained desktop that has no relationship to what's on the local console. If you need to access the actual desktop on the physical machine then I think you need to use xrdp or perhaps the x2go mentioned earlier can do that.

Re: Centos 7 terribly slow. Any way to improve?

There's nothing there that shows a problem that I can see. That doesn't mean I don't believe you, it means there's nothing in that data that shows what it is. The cpu is not busy - 94.x% idle in that top output. You have 10GB RAM free and unused. Your disk sequential throughput is 112MB/s which is a...

Re: Can't update Plesk & found similar issues in threads here...

Sorry, but we do not support any control panels, including Plesk. They change so much about the operating system that it ceases to be a CentOS system and becomes a plesk/cpanel/directadmin (delete as applicable) system and anything that we might recommend that would be applicable to a CentOS system ...

Re: help, MYSQL CONNECTION ERROR

What does mysql connection error have to do with being unable to create directories? Out of the box, selinux will stop httpd from talking to the network. If you need to have a php script run by httpd that needs to talk to mysql then you will need to toggle the selinux boolean to allow this by runnin...
