Re: Cannot access httpd on server

You can't ping an ip address with a port. Ping doesn't use tcp, it uses icmp which is a totally different thing and doesn't really have ports as such. If you want to test tcp connectivity then use telnet as that does take an ip address and a port though not using the : syntax, it's two separate para...

Re: bind error creating <zone name>.jnl

There's also an selinux boolean specifically to allow bind to write to its zone files.

Re: Using Centos Long term

Up until CentOS 5 the distro was supported for 7 years but during the lifetime of el5, Redhat announced that both it and CentOS 6 would be supported for 10 years from the release date. That also applies to CentOS 7. So CentOS 6 expires in 2020 and CentOS 7 in 2024, 10 years after the release of each...

Re: libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.9' not found

ImportError: /lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.9' not found (required by /home/rmulpuri/anaconda/envs/tokyo/lib/python3.6/site-packages/google/protobuf/pyext/_message.cpython-36m-x86_64-linux-gnu.so) Your problem is that that file is not built to run on CentOS. You need to rebuild it or do...

Re: Migrate boot from /(/dev/sda1) to /boot(/dev/sdb1)

How did you copy the contents of the old /boot to /tmp/tmpboot?

After you've copied it, you probably need to mount it on /boot and run restorecon -RFv /boot to reset all the selinux contexts which will have been set to the wrong thing by copying to the wrong location (/tmp/tmpboot vs /boot).

Re: CentOS + Apache?

We still ship Apache httpd as part of the distro but it won't be installed by default unless you select one of the "Web Server" type roles in the software selection screen during the install. Post install, you can install it using yum install httpd as normal.

Re: tune Network Interface performance

If it's 1Gbps cards then they should just work and not need tuning much. Any tuning you can do is likely to result in minor improvements. If the cards are being used only between the two machines - i.e. it's a dedicated link - then setting the MTU as high as the card supports will help to keep cpu u...
