Re: Trouble shooting RAM issues

And you'll want to address your questions to cpanel. We cannot help here as cpanel changes so much about the system that any help we might offer might make things worse.

Re: Setting up CentOS 7.5 (1804) as desktop?

I've prepared a bootable USB of the DVD ISO There are many broken tools for creating USB sticks, make sure you avoid the broken ones. Information on USB key based installs can be found at http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey I am looking for some information on which additional repositor...

Re: CentOS 7 Downgrade Kernel

Use yum downgrade kernel-3.10.0-862.el7 to revert to the first 7.5 kernel and see if you still have the problem. If it's still broken then revert to the last 7.4 kernel using yum downgrade --enablerepo=C7.4.1708-update downgrade kernel-3.10.0-693.21.1.el7 (may also need --noplugins if you have confi...

Re: Reboot centos 7 crashes while continuous write operation is going on in a disk with no partition

Your current, rather strange, script is writing only 128 bytes to the disk and always to the same (one quarter of a) sector. It's not testing much that's of any use.

Re: Centos7 keeps freezing

If the keyboard LEDs were flashing then you would have a kernel crash. Since they are not, I would guess that you have a hardware problem.

Re: iptables active (exited)

What is the output from systemctl status firewalld ? If that is running then iptables-service is not used and you cannot amend the rules using the iptables command (as firewalld will remove any that it doesn't think should be there). If you are running iptables and not firealld and ran that command ...

Re: VM will not boot after exporting from ESXi in VirtualBox

You need to boot the rescue kernel and run dracut --kver 3.10.0-862.14.4.el7.x8_64 (or whatever your real current kernel is). The initramfs contains hardware support and it's built at kernel install time specific to the hardware that you ran the install on.

Re: Software RAID0 slow

If it's set up using RST then mdadm detects that and the RAID operations then become a cooperative effort between it and the BIOS code. It's effectively using the FakeRAID code path and not the mdadm one.

Re: Software RAID0 slow

You definitely don't want the BIOS set to RAID mode. You may need to run `dmraid -r -R` against each member disk after turning it off to remove the FakeRAID metadata from them. Though having said that I would have expected to see some indication in /proc/mdstat like "imsm" in the text somewhere if i...
