toracat advises that LibreCAD
.... seems to require certain libraries newer than those available in EL 6.

Okay toracat. Thank you.

Fedora will mean a dual boot which seems a lot of work for one package and extremely inconvenient for everyday working. I do not know of a comparable open source package though.

Well, automount causes chaos. Both Firefox and Thunderbird profiles on on the Windows share. For now I have gone back to the fstab way of doing things even though it throws an error.
