Re: Serv-U FTP Server Program Clone?

You may also try `pure-ftpd` + `pureadmin` or `pure-ftpd` + `usermanager`. Its GUI not so rich as in Wing FTP, but it is better than nothing, if you want to use GUI. Personally, I use `pure-ftpd` for the years without GUI (some console utilities comes with it) and with SQL-backe...

@denf
do I need to install something or patch my kernel to use the tc command on my 2.6.x kernel?
You need to have only `iproute` package installed. That's all.
The HTB support is already implemented in centos kernel.

Re: My two CentOs, 500 internal server error on container

Can you provide some lines with error messages from your logs?
You may have error 500 for many reasons, including user rights issues; apache virtual host, suexec or perl misconfiguration.

connect to the web only through my vps

If you want to go to Internet through VPS, you have to set it as default gateway. Basic scenario: deploying VPN-server on your vps (`openvpn`, for example) and setting on it's configuration to assign default gateway for clients. Also, on VPS you should to allow ip-forwarding for VPN-clients and set ...

Re: Traffic Shaping on CENTOS 5.5

Also you may use examples from LARTC (you've mentioned above), this is a good example: http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.cookbook.fullnat.intro.html You just need to create your own classes (e.g., one class for each client), set `rate` and and `ceil` for each of them, classify them with ip-marks and then...

Re: Very slow FTP Transfers

Probably, there are issues with active/passive FTP-connections (you've tried to use `passive` from windows and `active` from centos, or vice versa). Your windows machines also may have an auto-assigned proxy (obtained with the automatic configuration), which centos hasn't.

Re: eth1.bak file creating ISSUE.

Check other parameters in newly created `ifcfg-eth0` and in old `ifcfg-eth0.bak`. If system creates new file in every reboot, there is something wrong with an old. Just change ip/netmask in newly created file (if needed) and let him be, you may delete .bak-file. After reboot, yo...
