giulix63 I have posted the link to pastebin http://pastebin.centos.org/38191/ for the current logfile http://pastebin.centos.org/38196/ for the previous log file Thank you for looking at this with me. I looked through the logs, but didn't seed anything that was obvious (to me). But then I am not sur...

Re: Centos 7 problem logging in after update
Thanks noriegafam, I have found a cml. My first priority is getting data off the HDD. Next I will post up the log files giulix63 has asked for. Thank you both, Dave.

Re: Centos 7 problem logging in after update
If I boot into the selected (or any) kernel and hit esc, I gedt the listing of actions going on. It seems to hang up/freeze at [OK] Started Virtualization daemon It does nothing visable and the HDD light is out. This goes on for about 2 minutes and a white notification comes on for a minute or so. T...

Re: Centos 7 problem logging in after update
Thanks kunzlata. I haven't found a way to get command line access, yet. Except, I can boot from Puppy linux in RAM and everyting seems to work fine. I can see the HDD in Puppy's file manager, but none of the file structure (like Home in the Centos installation that won't work). Just a bunch of compr...

Centos 7 problem logging in after update
After I was notified of some updates that were available (by gnome update I think), I selected update. After the update, when I boot up I get choices of 6 Kernels (?), all of which lead to the gnome login page. When I try to log in (no matter which kernel I choose at boot), I end up at a failure pag...

Re: Fedora-DejaDup to Centos6-duplicity
Well, I thought since the backup files were made by Duplicity (from a Fedora system) I would have to restore with Duplicity.
But I can sure give it a try.
Dave.

Fedora-DejaDup to Centos6-duplicity
I'm moving files from f-18 using DejaDup to a thumb drive to a laptop (Dell e4310) with Centos-6.5. This is sacrificial practice, no critical data is being harmed. Duplicity (0.6.22) is installed and the fingerdrive shows the files I want to move (they are pw encrypted). In a terminal: duplicity res...

Re: Build link broken, again [Solved]
Phill, I tried your suggestion above and the build link was still broken. So being a newbie, I did the easiest. I downloaded the i386 CentOS 5.5 CD's from a recommended site, made new CD's, md5sum checked ok, and reinstalled CentOS. After first boot, I updated using the update package installed. I o...
