Re: TV Tuner support?

I got it working!
Turns out Plex doesn't allow local playback, you instead have to go to app.plex.tv and playback that way.

Re: TV Tuner support?

Thanks for the pointers, I was at a total loss. Everything looks ok here, and I believe this confirms the firmware is available as well. [root@mediaserver ~]# dmesg |grep -i b123 [ 2.412551] usb 2-4: New USB device found, idVendor=2040, idProduct=b123, bcdDevice=40.01 [ 25.807918] cx231xx 2-4:1.1: N...

TV Tuner support?

Hi, I realize RedHat removed a lot of driver support from v8 and so I was wondering what TV Tuners are still supported? # lsusb |head -1 Bus 002 Device 003: ID 2040:b123 Hauppauge I have this device and I setup both Plex and VLC on a fresh CentOS 8 install but I can't seem to get either of them to p...

Re: Centos 7.6 Shutdown Issues on HP Z800

I realize it's nearly 18 months since you post. It popped up on Google near the top of the results for an unrelated search. As I have some experience with this, I believe the answer is in the ACPI settings for the kernel. You might try to boot the system with the noacpi option on the kernel command ...

Re: Upgraded vim, no colors for root

Sorry to post on such an old thread. I thought I would update that this is still a "problem" in CentOS 7. The simplest workaround (and, my personal opinion, the "proper" workaround) is to edit /etc/profile.d/vim.sh as follows: [root@fileserver profile.d]# diff -u vim.sh{,.new} --- vim.sh 2016-06-12 ...

Hello.

You would probably be best to download the repo's RPM file and install that so that the repo is correctly installed.

(Redacted the rest as I see that is a "how-to" post, rather than a "help me" post.)

Re: Manually installing GRUB help!

Hi, thanks for the reply. I suspect that Boot Other Devices is actually the default, and is essentially hard-coded as the default before anything else, because that option, while I've seen it in other BIOSes, is nonexistent in this one. All told, I'm about fed up with this motherboard anyways, it wa...

Manually installing GRUB help!

I recently built a file server, and installed CentOS 6. I got everything setup the way I need, monitoring-wise. Then tonight I decided to swap the motherboard that I bought for it into my desktop PC and put my older desktop PC motherboard into the file server. Here is what is going on. I have 2x32GB...
