You need to run the setup program (hp-setup) or something similar. It will download the binary blob.

Re: new user acl questions

Remember that to search a directory (eg use ls ) you need execute permission, so just supplying read will only allow the user to go to a subdirectory they already know about. I believe that you have that reversed. To cd to a directory, only "x" is needed, while "r" is needed to ...

Re: MySQL Remote Access Problem

I think that the default installation of MySQL disables remote access to the database. I would assume that MariaDB is the same. Look in the file /etc/my.cnf. You will probably find the following: [mysqld] ... skip-networking If so, remove the "skip-networking" and restart MariaDB.

Re: Rsync works from CLI but not PHP script

Most likely, it's an SELINUX issue.

Code: Select all

setsebool -P httpd_can_network_connect on

You can see the other SELinux booleans with:

Code: Select all

getsebool -a

Re: Help with route with several networks.

You need to use /16 netmasks. Instead of 255.255.255.0, use 255.255.0.0 ipcalc 172.17.4.0/16 Address: 172.17.4.0 10101100.00010001. 00000100.00000000 Netmask: 255.255.0.0 = 16 11111111.11111111. 00000000.00000000 Wildcard: 0.0.255.255 00000000.00000000. 11111111.11111111 => Network: 172.17.0.0/16 10...

Re: [Error] "passwd" command could not be executed.

To keep your system secure: 1. Make sure it is kept up to date with security-related updates. 2. Protect any logins against dictionary attacks with fail2ban or something equivalent. ssh, imap, smtp/sasl, etc.. 3. Review the privilege level of any daemons. Do they need to run as root, or can they run...
