Re: Windows 10 to CentOS 7.7 MATE xrdp immediate disconnect after login
I have a very similar thing going on, but my .xsession-errors only has the following Running without a11y support! Error: cannot open display: :10.0 I'm not sure what is happening here. Any remote GUI that will work would be nice. If anyone has worked it out I would appreciate knowing. All versions ...

XDMCP to GDM display delay
Hi I'm having a bit of trouble with GDM using a remote connection via XDMCP. It works OK connecting to a MATE desktop, but there is a dramatic delay (about 20s) between connecting and the login screen appearing. Does anyone have any idea how I might reduce this delay? From my searching I did the fol...

Re: NFS - connection refused (rpcinfo: can't contact portmapper RPC: Remote system error - Connection refused) centos 8
I would enable/start rpcbind & open ports 111 & 2049 both udp and tcp. systemctl (enable/start) rpcbind firewall-cmd (--permanent) --add-port=2049/tcp firewall-cmd (--permanent) --add-port=2049/udp firewall-cmd (--permanent) --add-port=111/tcp firewall-cmd (--permanent) --add-port=111/udp Should get...

lightdm udev
I'm having a bit of trouble getting lightdm to work on CentOS 7.4. It appears to leave quite a lot of stuff running after logout (and doesn't fully logout) While investigating it looks like the remote seat is not identified in /var/log/lightdm there is a file (null)-greeter.log, which is always empt...

Re: Remote desktop for CentOS 7.4
Unfortunately the end result is the same as X-Win32 with the NVidia driver. The logoff just leaves the background behind. Using something like that would also create some issues on one of the operational networks as they use iGel thin clients to connect rather than PCs. I am sure anything away from ...

Remote desktop for CentOS 7.4
Hi If anyone has anything working for a multi-user remote graphical user interface could you let me know what you used and how you set it up? I have been trying to update my systems to 7.4 but keep running into issues running any kind of remote desktop. The closest I have got is by having lightdm/MA...

remote lightdm not working after update to 7.4
Hi I have a problem with lightdm since updating a server to 7.4. I cannot connect to the server using a remote PC (using X-Win32 14.0.54 2017 if that is an issue) Can connect to a server running 7.3 with very similar setup. The change to the lightdm configuration file where SeatDefaults was changed ...

Re: Certmonger Issues
It appears that the yum update of IPA left out a little bit
If I edited /etc/sysconfig/dirsrv and inserted
KRB5_KTNAME=/etc/dirsrv/ds.keytab
Then ipa will start and my sanity is (almost) restored.

Extracting iDM information for use when uninstalled
As I cannot make the certificate system work on CentOS 7.3 is there any way I can extract information from iDM databases prior to uninstalling IPA? What I'm particularly after is the passwd/shadow entries as I can make the rest up. Obviously I will have to remove any certificate references to DNS an...
