I'm tidying up my CentOS stuff in preparation for it's death How do I leave the board? I've been hunting around the User Control Panel and can't see the way out. Thanks, and goodbye.

Re: Upgrade to CentOS 8.5 breaks dbus-broker from EPEL
I note that this morning another dependency has crept in on my Alma: Error: Problem: cannot install the best update candidate for package kde-gtk-config-5.18.4-1.el8.x86_64 - nothing provides breeze-gtk-common needed by kde-gtk-config-5.22.5-1.el8.x86_64 I'll leave it for a few days, and then try us...

Re: Upgrade to CentOS 8.5 breaks dbus-broker from EPEL
This has been discussed at length in both the Alma newsgroup and Alma chat. One solution, which has enabled me to upgrade with KDE, is to enable the epel-next repository with an enhanced cost. Once the initial upgrade has been sorted out, ensure that you turn the repo off. [epel-next] name=Extra Pac...

Re: Providing further privileges with sudoers
Obviously, as Trevor said. @afernandezody - did you run the command # visudo -c to check all was well?

Re: Providing further privileges with sudoers
That last line opens things up way too far. You say I'd like to edit files owned by root without having to include sudo to call vi or any other editor so why modify /etc/sudoers ? Incidentally it's much cleaner to leave that file alone and drop a small script into /etc/sudoers.d , I'll give an examp...

Re: Leaving CentOS for RHEL: How to maintain community support?
Just from my own personal experience and nothing else, there is a good community support group for AlmaLinux, which is where I've gone.

Re: Upgrading to *8
Isn't that true of any major change though? As I said, I haven't done it and I'm not intending to do it; I just thought it might be of interest.

Upgrading to *8
I'm well aware of the past position that a major upgrade has to be a reinstall, but have you folks seen https://almalinux.org/elevate ? It claims: Currently ELevate provides Leapp data for migration from CentOS 7 to the following OS: AlmaLinux OS 8 CentOS Stream 8 Oracle Linux 8 Rocky Linux 8 I've n...

You can find guides to all sorts of things on the internet. Better to take an expert like Trevor's advice.

Re: Top CPU consumers
If you want a more historical view there's always sa/sar and friends. If you are hunting for it be aware though that it has been moved from cron into the potty black hole.
