You have two possible solutions now that RH won't fix it.
One is to ask CentOS to enable the kernel option in the centosplus kernel (kernel-plus). The other is to ask ELRepo to build the module as a kmod package. With kmod, you do not need to rebuild for each kernel update.

What is the output of "lspci -nn" ? Post the line for your wifi device. It will show the device IDs [xxxx:yyyy].

According to the person who is maintaining wireguard for Fedora and CentOS:
I think there is also an IRC channel for wireguard. Hope you can get help from those venues.the wireguard mailing list is most likely the best spot for this.
