Your web hosting provider?

Post by 0zas » 2010/04/14 00:01:56

I apologize for the possible off-topic. Guys, could you tell me which web hosting company you are using at the moment? I have a problem because my current web hosting company hostrator.com is kicking me off. They say that our website is using too many server resources. But our website only gets 300 visitors per day..

Anyway, what would be your recommendations? Are you happy with your web hosting providers?

I am checking http://www.hosting24.com/ at the moment, but is it real that they can provide unlimited disk space?
I have contacted them and they say something like "1000GB disk drive costs only $30 per month, so if some day we will start running out of disk space we will simply add a new 1000GB drive so can continue uploading..".

What do you think about it? Any ideas and web hosting company name suggestions are much appreciated.

Not a CentOS question. Moving to Social.

I've been using 34sp (www.34sp.com) for years -- my wife currently hosts her doula services on it (www.serenitybirthservices.com). But I got lucky and signed up with them when they still offered their 16.00 pounds per year service. Hardly any downtime in 7 years or so. They now offer a "professional" hosting for $6.95 per month, but it may be too limited for what you need. (They also have business hosting about $16 a month.)

Another service that I use -- just for experimenting -- is 000webhost.com (www.000webhost.com). They offer free hosting and the service has been really good. They also offer "premium" hosting for less than $5 a month with unlimited space and traffic. Can't vouch for the paid service as I've never tried it -- but they seem to be professional and my free site has never had any problems.

BTW, that link you provided seems to be an even better deal than 000webhost.com -- since they throw in a free domain. (But check the features closely -- I don't know if there's a difference or not.)

Second additional note... Since both 000webhost.com and host24.com seemed to offer the same prices and hosting features, I checked their whois records to see if they were the same company. 000webhost.com is based in Arizona, host24.com is based out of Lithuania. I don't know if that makes a difference, but 000webhost.com has been around since 2002, host24.com since 2007.
