We are going to try and get 6.1 done in the next few days ( I hope to
have the final isos ready on Monday or Tuesday next week ). And get the
updates out via that route. If for some reason those isos are not ready
on Monday and looking like they wont make it for Tuesday either, we can
populate the 6.0/cr repo on Monday night itself.

Thanks for all your effort, 6.1 is coming.

Since CentOS 6.0 release, the develop process of CentOS is becoming less and less transparent. Neither the QAWeb site nor the Announcement fora has posted any news about 6.1 or 5.7 process. In my opinion, the calendar may not be necessary, but posting the develop process will be appreciated.

No, it may begin sync to internal mirrors today. I guess 6.1 GA at the end of this week or the beginning of next week.

I'm sorry, the delivery is to the QA team, not to the mirrors. It means that we won't see CentOS 6.1 until next month.

Don't hold your breath waiting. If you want a solid and supported distribution, go with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Otherwise, just wait and get whatever is released here, whenever it happens to be released. CentOS is great for
learning Linux or messing around with a "hobby" or home server, but not for a production environment where stability, support and regular update releases are a requirement. Just my 2 cents.

Also for servers run by non-profit organizations, such as college associations, etc.
We have no budget to buy RHEL, CentOS is almost the only choice.

Has anyone heard anything recently about either CentOS 6.1, or the 6.0 Continuous Release repo? for 6.0 the site qaweb.dev.centos.org had quite a bit of info (as well as the centos-devel mailing list archives). Both are very, very lacking on any details on 6.1 or the CR repository (which is mentioned on the 6.0 announcement on the front page of centos.org almost 2 months ago) I'm getting a bit nervous about not getting any security updates (such as Firefox to remove a compromised CA) and the lack of updates is keeping me from deploying 6.0 besides a couple of test servers. I'm not sure yet if I need to worry about CentOS 5.x security updates, but my 4.x servers have been getting a decent amount of updates released lately, and my 5.x and 6.0 have not... I've been trying to look into it, and I'm a bit troubled by the centos-devel list.. Do the developers communicate through another channel now, or is pretty much nothing going on?

Not much word on 6.0CR/6.1. However 5.6CR was announced a few weeks ago and has pushed out several updates. And 5.7 ought to hit public mirrors in about 72-80 hours per Twitter.

Hi!
Twitter is one of the best source timely of CentOS release information these days. Not much coming from the CentOS forums, twitter seems to be a good place to start...
