CentOS 6.1 release??
Re: CentOS 6.1 release??
I just added a comment to the ElRepo RFE for kernel-ml, requesting a non-PAE EL6 kernel. Would anyone else need something like that?
I have some very nice Pentium M laptops that could use CentOS 6. Sadly, they have the last Pentium M generation without PAE support.

Re: CentOS 6.1 release??
It's 10 days since CentOS 6.0 released. Anything about 6.1 to tell?

Re: CentOS 6.1 release??
No, but CentOS 6.0 LiveMedia should be hitting the mirrors soon.

Re: CentOS 6.1 release??
Hi,
http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-announce/2011-July/017645.html
Since upstream has a 6.1 version already released, we will be using a Continous Release repository for 6.0 to bring all 6.1 and post 6.1 security updates to all 6.0 users, till such time as CentOS-6.1 is released itself. There will be more details about this posted within the next 48 hours.
What happens next with this?
Each CentOS 6.0 installation is currently unsafe.

[CentOS-devel] Updates between minor releases
in a nutshell, there are 4 key facts :
- all updates are provided in a sane build ( ie, some tests have been
done and they *should* be all in a good state ); its not easy to isolate
the SA's only, it would need to be everything
- Its not dropped in by default, the user would need to make a manual
choice to opt into this repo
- We need to think about, put in place and execute a very visible and
very focused education campeign to make sure that a large number of
people are aware of its existance, know what the implications are, and
have the facts they need to make a decision.
- The process needs to gurantee an exit strategy / rebase to /os/ +
/updates when a point release is publicly available with media.
We are getting this ready for 6.0/CR/ at this very moment ( and it might
be a few days before it starts seeing rpms ) - so if there are things
that need bashed out or spoken about or design issues that concern
anyone, now would be a great time to share

Why isn't the QA process of CentOS 6.0 LiveMedia posted to QAWeb Community site?

The QA lead has had some non-CentOS issues to deal with.
