[RESOLVED] Finally made the step to come here.
I have been a long time Redhat fan Until RHEL came about and left it to go to OSX. ;P I have been messing with Debian and Fedora but fedora always seems to do weird things lol.
With that said, I started using CentOs at home and it's pretty great. ;) I guess it's the closest I can get to owning RHEL 6 without paying for it.
I have been using centos for about 2 years now on my VPS at a registrar. Only 1 time have I had problems with this os. My mail server daemon died and just had to restart the service.
Awesome job on a stable OS.

Welcome to the CentOS fora. Please see the recommended reading for new users linked in my signature.
I'm sure the developers will appreciate your praise, and yes - CentOS is pretty close to being RHEL without the support.
My deviation into OSX turned into just using it as a host to run RHEL derivatives under VirtualBox. If the hardware didn't belong to my employer, and wasn't under configuration control, it would have CentOS on the bare metal. :-)

Since refit doesn't seem to work right, I might sell my MacBook to buy another pc laptop.

Re: Finally made the step to come here.
People are running CentOS on MacBook hardware, but it can sometimes be problematic getting it installed and configured. The first compatibility check would be to try the LiveCD/DVD. If help is needed with that, or with installing CentOS, please start a new thread.
Re: Finally made the step to come here.
I am actually selling my Mac because of it. Lol. I just bought a new Asus laptop and installed 6.2. Everything works even wireless(which doesn't on FC16).

Thanks for reporting back. Marking this thread [RESOLVED] for posterity.

:-o "Hi!" is a resolvable issue? What if it would originate from representatives of that other gender (the non-admins)?
@Sesso: I might tell local Mac users (which thankfully do not pester the innocent too much) that there is a route to happiness ...

I should have known better than to try to label a Social thread as resolved. :-)
