Getting this error when I'm trying to install CentOS on Dell Optiplex 330 machine with Intel DUal Core 2, 4GB RAM and Windows 7 running.

Yes. It would appear that you downloaded a 64 bit edition of CentOS and you only have a 32 bit cpu. You need to use a 32 bit edition on your machine. That rules out CentOS 7 at the present time since only a 64 bit version of that is available.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
