Not trying to be creepy or anything but just wondering what the average age the user on these forums are. Vote on the poll and additionally comment how long you have been using CentOS for.

About 3 years.

But of course, you have no idea what age group I'm in.

And you don't know what I use CentOS for.

A clue to the age group: the first modem I used was in a 19" rack and had a rotary dial on the front

Good luck with the project

35.

Got into linux while in high school. Was told to get "Red Hat Linux" over at Barnes & Nobles. Saw that book, along with a Debian, and a Slackware one. The Slackware one was bigger so I got that. Once RHL 7.0 came out, I have been all in on Red Hat. In between, I had distro hopped alot to check em all out. Had Linspire going for some time too (sad to see them go, really). But these days its all EL6/7 and a few Fedoras here and there. Any gig I admin at, its RHEL or CentOS. A few OpenBSD endpoints. But vastly at this point EL6. All my stuff is EL7 except my fileserver, which I haven't bothered to upgrade to EL7 yet. No real need either. I tithe a few Desktops and a Workstation entitlements. Trying to keep the annual costs in reason :D Just remember the days when $1000 a year in software was cheap. Now $500 on linux is steep :D Haha, how times have changed (for a home user of course, enterprise its gotten ALOT better, AIX/HPUX licenses ...)

Oh I started using open source software around '93. Been using Linux since about '95 and full time professionally since about '99.

Well over 40 (so 40++). No beard, no sandels with lime green socks (that's important). Less hair and more weight. Still can't type English though!

25. I wanted a Linux-based OS since I was 12 (when I first got myself into C/C++) and finally succeeded with CentOS a couple of weeks ago.
Since the first run of the OS, it spread like wildfire to all of my machines -and, most importantly, the big ol' beast I assembled myself and I use to work/free time/everything else.
If things keep going as well as they have so far, I'm going to be a CentOS user for a very long time
:geek: .

Thought I would post about myself since I created the poll. I started messing with CentOS when I was 15yrs old around March 2013 on an old Dell Dimension E521 or something. Built a computer specifically to run CentOS (server) and I have been using CentOS for my server needs ever sense. I am 17 now.
