Just wanted to do a little intro since I know I don't like when someone joins just to solve their problem.

I've been using Linux at home for a long time, but it's just been on my laptop and I just want that to work. I've also been using RHEL at work for quite a few years, but I just know what I need in order to do my job.

But I decided I want to learn how it works and to get RHCE certified, that brought me to CentOS. So I bought a Lenovo ThinkServer and have been playing around with CentOS 7 for a little while. I've really only been playing since the Michael Jang book isn't out yet. I have another RHEL 7 certification book in hand, but it doesn't read quite as well to me.

I hope to be able to add to the discussions around here and not just stop in when I find I'm in a bind.

I didn't want to call it out since different books read better for some than others. Michael Jang's books just flow well for me, or maybe I've read enough of them that I'm accustomed to his writing style.

The book I have is by Asghar Ghori. I will say that he is very accessible. I emailed him a couple of times and received a reply within about 24 hours.

I thought so. I also have the Asghar Ghori book for RHEL7, and yeah it seems very through but does not exactly flow like silk, if you get what I mean.

I bought the book because I wanted to have some hardcopy documentation about systemd (so RedHat's scheme seems to be paying off, hahahahah!).

So, what book do you recommend to take on RHCSA and, later maybe, RHCE?
Root is evil: Do not use root (sudo) to run any of the commands specified in my posts unless explicitly indicated. Please, provide the necessary amount of context to understand your problem/question.

I can't recommend any book since I've never taken a Red Hat exam.

But I have the RHEL 6 book written by Michael Jang and I really like it. It flows very well. Unfortunately his RHEL 7 book isn't going to be published until about December.
