Hello forum, just registered

Post by travis_farmer » 2017/03/18 14:34:18

Hello, i am Travis Farmer, from Maine, USA.
Currently i have a Dell Poweredge 1950, running CentOS 7 from minimum install. I hope to expand my server "farm" as i go, but for now, that is what i have.
Previous to CentOS, i have used Mandrake (years ago). when i was shopping for a distro for my current server, i tried Fedora, but wasn't very happy with it. i don't remember exactly why. i also tried Debian, but didn't like that either.

my server, so far, is just a personal web server (Apache 2.4.6, MariaDB 10.1.20, PHP 5.4.16) it is still in shakedown phase to make sure it is ready for the web, so i haven't given the address out yet.

i have been in the Arduino.cc forum for a little while now, so i learned a little bit of forum etiquette there. i thought at least by pointing out i did some "homework" rather than posting, that some people actually read the "read me first" postings.

Just curious, how is phpBB to work with? on my own server, i have Simple Machines Forum, and so far i like it.
